Our Policies

Polices and Guidelines

At Language Express, we provide the best possible environment for your child. Our policies and guidelines are in place to ensure that all children in the center are safe, secure and receive only the highest quality care all while participating in activities that are stimulating and fun.

Due to licensing requirements, all children that attend our facility do so on a flexible basis and may attend Language Express for a maximum of four consecutive hours on any given day. This means that parents can choose dates and times for their children subject to availability.

 

REGISTRATION:

We accept children ages 3 months to 12 years.

​

COVID-19 PARENT DROP-OFF & PICK-UP Policy: 

  • Parents will not be allowed to enter the building.

  • Temperature will be taken before entering the facility.

  • Any child whose temperature is measured to indicate a fever, who reports having or is observed to have any such symptoms, or who has recently been in contact with symptomatic individuals will not be permitted to enter the facility.

 

If your child shows  any of the following symptoms during the day, you will be promptly called to pick up your child immediately. There will be a 72 hour period of being symptom free before your child can return.

  • Temperature 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by forehead

  • Sore throat

  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)

  • Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain

  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever

 

  • Face covering is required for all children.

  • Hand hygiene stations will be set up at the entrance of the facility, so that children can clean their hands before they enter.

  • A positive photo ID is required in order to pick up a child. A child will only be released to persons designated on the registration form. No exceptions.

  • At Pick-up, parents ring a doorbell to alert staff. After signing out your child, a staff member will open the door and the parents will wait for their child to arrive at the entrance.

 

Only authorized person will be allowed to pick up the child.

 

New: We only operate on Saturday's by request. Saturday Service Request can be made here, or by emailing us.

SICK POLICY

In order to provide a safe and clean environment for all children and Language Express Staff, please consider the following health guidelines before deciding to send your child or keep him/her home:

 

  • Temperature of 100.4 or higher

  • Nausea/vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Red, watery eyes with yellow or cloudy drainage

  • Undiagnosed rash

  • Excessive phlegm cough and/ or purulent nasal discharge

  • Severe sore throat

 

Your child should not have experienced any of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before coming to our facility.

 

Language Express reserves the right to refuse entry or discharge early any child exhibiting any of the above symptoms. If a child becomes ill while in our care, the parents will be notified immediately. Parents will be expected to pick-up their child in a prompt manner. If parents cannot be reached within a timely manner, we will call the emergency contacts on the Registration form to pick-up your child. In extreme emergency situations 911 will be called and appropriate actions will follow.

**At Language Express, we do not give medications to the children.

MEDICATIONS & ALLERGIES

Language Express does not administer medications of any kind. We will however, in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, make reasonable accommodations of children with a variety of disability or special health care needs. Furthermore, please do not send in any medication with or for children to self administer.

PAYMENT 

Payment is due at the end of services. We utilize Square POS terminal as our primary method to accept payments. We accept cash, check, debit and/or major credit cards. There will be a fee of $35 for any returned check due to insufficient funds. If your child is not retrieved by the closing time, you will be charged a fee of $1.00 for every minute you are late. For Saturday Drop-in: there will be a fee of $25 for not cancelling requested service within 24 hours prior (or prior to opening time) of the requested Saturday. 


MEALS AND SNACKS

We provide healthy and nutritious snacks for all children. Lunch and dinner will be provided for a charge from local restaurants. If your child’s stay overlaps with mealtime, we request that you either pack food for your child or select our purchase meal option. You can request the purchase meal option at check-in. All meals and snacks are served with water. In the event of any food allergies, please plan to provide your child’s own snack labeled with their name.

INCIDENT/ ACCIDENT REPORTS

Should an incident occur while your child is under our care, an incident report will be completed. Parents will be given the report to sign. A Language Express staff member will ask you to review and sign the report. The original report will be kept in file and a copy will be given to the parent.

 

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Staff members are CPR and First Aid certified. We have emergency numbers posted and a first aid kit. Even with all the safety precautions in place, accidents are possible. Parents or guardians will be notified in the event of an accident. Please be advised that in the event of a serious or life-threatening emergency, at the sole discretion of Language Express staff, Language Express will notify emergency personnel first and parents or guardians second. Please consult Language Express if you have any questions regarding such policies and procedures.

In case of an emergency that would require an evacuation, children will be evacuated through the nearest safe exit. The attendance form and list of phone numbers for parents and emergency contacts will be taken along to ensure that all children are accounted for and all families notified as soon as possible.

Children will be assembled at 502 Southtown Circle

A notice will be posted at the drop-in care with all information on the alternative sight.

If the center should lose the use of heat, water or electricity (or any other emergency was to occur), parents will be notified to pick up their child as soon as possible.

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Parents will be notified through telephone or text message if the weather becomes too severe that we have to close early.

 

SAFETY & SECUTRITY

At Language Express, we adhere to strict pick-up procedures. In order to keep the children in our facility safe, only persons listed on the Registration Form, or on a Registration update Form will be allowed to pick up children.

We have  limited entry system, meaning that the doors of the facility are always locked  and only parents dropping off or picking up children are allowed in. For added security, Language Express staff Must escort all children into and out of the play area.

Our childcare professionals are Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certified and have received specialized training in behavioral management strategies.

​

We encourage positive behavior and will redirect children when needed.

We have a quiet area where children can calm their mind and body.

The center has been designed for children to have FUN!

CLEANLINESS

Language Express staff is dedicated to providing a clean and well maintained center. Preferably, we use all-natural, non-toxic, child and environment-friendly cleaning supplies.
